There’s a new canvas at Time Out Market Union Square, and this time, it’s yours.
Join New York-based artist Bianca Romero, the artist behind the mural currently transforming the Market’s Union Square terrace, for Wine & Design: Spray Paint, a three-part hands-on series exploring the techniques behind spray-paint art.
Designed to take you from first spray to finished artwork, the series begins with the fundamentals. In Class 1: Spray Paint Basics, Bianca will introduce the tools, techniques and essential skills you need to start working confidently with spray paint. You’ll learn how to control the can and experiment with lines, shapes, layers and effects while getting comfortable with the medium.
Class 2: Spray Paint Basics II builds on those foundations. With the basics under your belt, you’ll develop greater control and begin exploring how individual techniques work together to create more intentional designs and compositions.
Then it’s time to make some art. In the final 75-minute class, you’ll choose from a selection of iconic NYC-inspired designs and put everything you’ve learned into practice. Bianca will guide you through the creative process step-by-step as you create a finished spray-painted piece of your own to take home.
The series offers a chance to learn directly from the artist whose work can be seen right outside on Time Out Market Union Square’s terrace, while getting an entirely new perspective on an art form woven into New York City’s visual identity.
Come for one class or follow the full series to build your skills from the ground up. No previous spray-paint experience is required.
