Time Out's Best Cities has been named Data Initiative of the Year at the 2026 PPA (Professional Publishers Association) Awards, recognising the project as one of the UK's leading examples of audience insight driving editorial impact.
The award celebrates outstanding use of data to deliver measurable value to audiences and businesses. Judges praised Time Out's Best Cities as "an ambitious initiative that transformed complex audience insight into a compelling editorial strategy with strong reach, engagement and clear brand impact."
The PPA Awards are among the UK's most prestigious publishing awards, recognising excellence across media, content, audience engagement, commercial innovation and data. More than 260 entries were submitted across this year's awards programme.
Now in its tenth year, Time Out's Best Cities is one of the brand's most influential global editorial initiatives. Time Out Group has partnered with Giunina LLC, a company established by Brazilian hospitality and entertainment executive Benjamin Ramalho to develop and operate Time Out Market Brazil under a master franchise agreement. Already operating in 13 cities worldwide, with five more locations in development, Time Out Market is set to make its South American debut in SĂŁo Paulo in the first quarter of 2027.
The venue will combine Time Out Market's globally recognised model with a distinctly local identity. The project is expected to become a significant addition to SĂŁo Paulo's food and cultural landscape, serving both residents and visitors in South America's largest metropolis.

Time Out announced today a partnership with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to host Portugal House, the official fan zone of the Portuguese National Football Team during the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Running from June 13 to July 20, Portugal House will transform Time Out Market New York in Brooklyn into a celebration of Portuguese culture, gastronomy, music and football. It will create a home-away-from-home for Portugal supporters and an immersive destination for New Yorkers and visitors eager to experience the country’s vibrant culture during the world’s biggest sporting event.

Under the agreement, RBA will continue to publish Time Out in Spain under a long-term franchise partnership, ensuring the continued presence and growth of the brand across the market. Time Out Market operations in Spain are not part of the transaction and will continue to be owned and operated by Time Out Group.
RBA is one of the largest Spanish-language publishing groups globally, with a portfolio of more than 25 brands, including international titles such as National Geographic and InStyle. The company reaches an audience of around 60 million people each month across its media platforms.
Time Out Group believes that transitioning to a franchise model in Spain will enable the brand to grow faster by benefiting from RBA’s scale, local expertise and multi-platform capabilities.
Time Out has built a strong presence in Spain, with Time Out Barcelona and Madrid becoming trusted guides to city life for local audiences and visitors alike. The Group is proud of the business established in the market and sees significant opportunity for further growth in Spain under RBA’s stewardship.
As part of the transaction, Time Out Spain's Media team will transfer to RBA, continuing their roles within the new structure. Operations will move to RBA’s offices in Barcelona and Madrid.
