Nightlife looks different around the world and is about so much more than clubbing â itâs also street life and community, late-night cafe culture, and hybrids of art gallery and dancefloor.
Â
Time Out has unveiled its annual ranking of the Worldâs Best Cities for Nightlife. Las Vegas tops the list as global nightlife capital, with Madrid and Paris completing the top three of true nightlife veteran cities. Time Outâs ranking this year highlights an after-dark scene that has evolved beyond the superclub, with todayâs nightlife offering an incredible spectrum â from sophisticated cocktail bars and nostalgic vinyl lounges to new music genres taking over dancefloors or immersive digital art parties.
Â
To compile the list, Time Out â the global brand that inspires and enables people to experience the best of the city â surveyed thousands of people around the world about nightlife and going out in their city. Each city was ranked on how locals rated the quality and affordability of their cityâs nightlife scene, from clubbing to entertainment. Time Out editors included only the highest-scoring city for each country to ensure the list reflects the nightlife scenes of cities around the world. To create the final ranking, a panel of nightlife experts, including Time Out city editors and arts and culture writers, voted on their favourite cities. Local editors and writers have also shared why each city on the list makes the grade, and how to have a good time out after dark.

Paris is the Best City in the World for Culture right now, according to locals whose survey ratings were combined with insights from Time Outâs experts to create this definitive annual list.
An impressive 96% of Parisians rated their cityâs cultural offering as either âgoodâ or âamazingâ in this yearâs survey, with Time Outâs global network of local experts ranking it their joint top city for culture, too. The French capital has long stood at the forefront of the global arts scene, home to the Louvre - the worldâs largest and most visited museum - as well as iconic institutions like the MusĂ©e dâOrsay, Palais de Tokyo and the Pinault Collection at the Bourse de Commerce. Locals highlighted all of these in their responses , as well as a packed calendar of cultural events, from the city-wide FĂȘte de la Musique to La Villetteâs open-air film festival, CinĂ©ma en Plein Air. This is alongside stunning exhibitions including David Hockney 25 and From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana.
To compile the list, Time Out â the global brand that inspires and enables people to experience the best of the city â used two data sources. They were also asked about the cultural venues, events and festivals they love the most in their hometown. This data was then combined with scores from a panel...
