Time Out says

The advent of the 'Reiwa' era in Japan signalled a significant milestone in the nation's history, marking the first abdication of the royal throne in about 200 years. Now, in 2023, Japan not only celebrates the fifth anniversary of the current Emperor's ascension but also the 30th anniversary of the marriage between the Emperor and Empress. In honour of these momentous occasions and in anticipation of the years to come, a special exhibition has been organised with an impressive array of royal artefacts and clothing pieces numbering up to 100, along with 150 photographs capturing the royal family during pivotal events.

These offer an intimate look into their personal lives and their roles as symbols of national unity. Among the highlights are iconic items such as the Robe Décolleté and bolero worn by the Empress on her wedding day and the special robe and hat donned by the Emperor when he received his honorary law degree from the University of Oxford. Roughly 70 of these pieces have never been displayed to the public before.

This commemorative exhibition presents an unparalleled opportunity to experience the evolution of Japan's royal heritage, providing insights into the personal and public lives of the royal couple and their dedication to their people and duties.
