Time Out says

The story of Studio Ghibli as we know it begins with an anime magazine called Animage, where Hayao Miyazaki first met his producer and longtime collaborator Toshio Suzuki. Established in 1978, Animage flourished in the 1980s and '90s for serialising popular manga including Miyazaki's 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'.

In this comprehensive exhibition at Matsuya Ginza, Animage and Studio Ghibli are joining together to celebrate the origins of the world's most popular manga and anime, while giving fans insight to the hidden figures behind iconic franchises like ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’.

Over 200 pieces will be displayed, including story boards and original cels from ‘Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind', which have never been exhibited before, as well as memorabilia from Mamoru Oshii's ‘Angel’s Egg’. There will also be a focus on Suzuki’s influence on beloved Ghibli films and his work in the studio – a role that gets overlooked by most viewers, save for a few superfans.
