Blossom Blast: What it Means to Be a Woman
'Fontana Eli Fontana' by Sabrina Horak (2015)

The influence of female artists has been blossoming slowly but surely in Tokyo over the past few years, yet the playing field is often still far from being level: male counterparts often fetch higher prices, and the number of practising female artists is still lower than that of male ones. To highlight and combat this, the TokyoDex artist collective and ad agency has teamed up with Ultra Super New in Harajuku to create a full programme of artsy events themed around female empowerment. Right in time for International Women's Day on March 8, 'Blossom Blast' will feature an exhibition, multiple talks and seminars, plus and a workshop on 'what female empowerment looks like'.
