Time Out says

The open-call Spiral Independent Creators Festival (SICF) was first launched in 2000 as a way to support and spotlight emerging artists and designers. This year’s competition winner is Taiwanese artist Ching Wen Chang, who will be exhibiting her first solo show 'Vessel for Our Memories' at the Spiral through May 1.

Using natural pigments, Japanese ink and paper, Chang will present a series of works based on multi-storey housing complexes in Tokyo and Taiwan. Created over the course of the pandemic, Chang's pieces are a manifestation of the nostalgia and longing she felt for her native Taiwan as well as the feelings of solitude from living abroad, away from her friends and family.

Alongside Chang's art, SICF will also be exhibiting the works of competition finalists including Kie Terazawa, Sanae Yanagi and Mami Suruya.
