Time Out says

Leading Japanese projection-mapping artist Masaru Ozaki is bringing his avant-garde works to Tokyo this December. A pioneer in utilising CG animation for live music performances (VJ), Osaki will be exhibiting for 10 days at Gallery 4751 in Nihonbashi.

Known for questioning the very definition of what’s real, the artist is presenting works from his ‘Sculptures of Light’ series, which overlays precise projection mapping onto sculptures and the iconic spring onion from Expo 2025 to unsettle our perceptual processes and question reality as we see it.

The exhibit highlights yoin (afterglow), the lingering impression that Ozaki’s work left on many visitors at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. Focusing on the fact that the appearance and meaning of the work continue to evolve with changes in place and time, the artist presents that sense of continuity as an exhibition concept.

Working with the idea that we have a delayed perception of reality, Ozaki has created the artwork ‘Delay Sculpture,’ which turns invisible time differences into artwork. This work will be made public here for the first time.

On the first floor, works previously shown at the Expo are reunited, revealing new perceptual fluctuations that arise when the pieces are placed in a different environment. Displays on the second floor examine the structure of ‘Delay Sculpture’ through past works.
