This retrospective exhibition hosted by The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo is dedicated to Eiko Ishioka, an internationally renowned art director and designer. Though her adolescent years were punctated by the bitter hardships and aftermath of World War II, Ichioka went on to gain a degree from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and dedicated her life to expressing art through a multitude of mediums.
This exhibition takes a comprehensive look at projects from different chapters of Ishioka's colourful career, from collaborations with master of cinema, Francis Ford Coppola, to costume designs for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
