Time Out says

This is a bit of a historical time for the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo as this exhibition by Eugene Studio marks the first time the museum is featuring a solo exhibition from an artist born in the Heisei era (1989-2019). Headed by American-born Japanese artist Eugene Kangawa, the studio produces video art, paintings and installations that communicate different perspectives of the modern world. Kangawa’s work has previously been exhibited at the Serpentine Gallery in England as well as the Shiseido Gallery and The National Art Center, Tokyo.

The artist’s works featured in ‘After the Rainbow’ are connected with a theme of coexistence and encourage viewers to use their imagination as they interpret each piece. Highlights include Kangawa’s ongoing 'White Painting' series (2017-) as well as never-before-seen installations.
