Time Out says

Note: this event is not in Tokyo, but in Fukushima prefecture.

Fukushima prefecture, known for its nature, traditional crafts, local cuisine and festivals, is hosting this future-oriented event. The expo features artisans who combine traditional techniques with contemporary designs, methods and ideas.

You can visit four different areas in Fukushima’s Aizu region (Nishi-Aizu, Aizu Wakamatsu, Aizu Misato and Oku-Aizu), each of which play host to a number of events, including exhibitions and workshops that convey the charm of traditional crafts, as well as food events in collaboration with local wineries and cuisine.

Starting from November 14, at Nishi-Aizu International Art Village, you can enjoy a fashion exhibition showing Japanese designer Junko Koshino’s innovative use of Fukushima’s traditional crafts, including clothing and apparel made from silk and wickerwork. Photos of models wearing these new items will be printed onto local Izugahara washi paper, alongside projections of short films showing them visiting Fukushima tourist spots.

Make sure to take in the history and culture of Aizu, too. The area is full of nature spots, such as Mt Bandai and the Goshiki-numa five-coloured lakes, plus museums and workshops for traditional crafts.

The entire event runs until November 30, but dates and times differ for each area. Main venues include:
・Nishi-Aizu International Art Village in Nishi-Aizu
・Aizu Tourist Information Centre Iransho in Aizu Wakamatsu
・Seseragi Park Auto Camping Ground in Aizu Misato
・Tohoku Electric Power & Oku-Aizu Hydraulic Power Museum Miori in Oku-Aizu
