Time Out says

Once counted among the true greats of Italian Baroque art, Emilian painter Guercino's work was largely forgotten in the 19th century, as the academic, classical style he subscribed to was rejected in favour of new ideas and styles. Rediscovered during the latter part of the 20th century, his dramatic art is the focus of this exhibit consisting of pieces from Ueno's National Museum of Western Art and the Municipal Art Gallery in Cento, Italy, a museum that was badly damaged by a 2012 earthquake and remains closed for now. A part of this display's proceeds will be donated to the reconstruction of that museum.
