The usually quiet and refined streets of Kagurazaka will echo with music and revelry at this two-day celebration of the traditional arts, centred on the stage set up on the Bishamonten (Zenkokuji) temple grounds but spreading out all over the area. Shinnai nagashi performers (usually two singers and a shamisen player) will be strolling the neighbourhood, tea ceremonies will be taking place, and you can learn more about Kagurazaka's history by participating in the 'stamp rally' walking tour. Those looking to catch performances by local geisha will, however, have to book in advance (for details, see the official website).
