Kazuyo Sejima SANAA x Hokusai

Architect Kazuyo Sejima is the force behind the slick, modernist Sumida Hokusai Museum building, opened a year ago to great fanfare. Sejima's architectural approach and her SANAA office are the focus of this mini-exhibition, which displays models of the museum alongside drawings and other projects Sejima and her partner Ryue Nishizawa are currently working on. You can also view a replica of the so-called Hokusai Manga, the ukiyo-e master's detailed, almost scientific collection of sketches depicting everything from animals and plants to architecture and everyday scenes.
