Time Out says

One of Japan's most in-demand photographers right now, veteran snapper Kishin Shinoyama attracted huge crowds to both of his recent large-scale shows in the capital region ('La Maison de Rendez-Vous' at the Hara Museum and 'The People by Kishin in Yokohama'). This display at Shibuya's Atsukobarouh gallery is a far less flashy affair, but certainly one with an interesting theme: it consists of highlights from 'Love Doll x Shinoyama Kishin', the Tokyo-born titan's latest photo book. Known for his celebrity portraits and nudes, Shinoyama has turned his camera to lifeless beauty this time, shooting almost disturbingly expressive portraits of Japan's high-end 'love dolls'. Blurring the borders between the real and the artificial, these images are probably best viewed after listening to the artist himself discuss them – sign up for the gallery talk (on April 30) here
