Time Out says

Tokyo National Museum’s latest exhibition explores the different styles of art of the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1573-1603). You can admire a large variety of works, including Kano Eitoku’s ‘Chinese Lions’ and Iwasa Matabei's 'Scenes in and around the Capital (Funaki Version)'. The latter is a piece of rakuchu rakugai-zu art that focuses on aerial views of Japan’s former capital Kyoto, and it depicts the lives of everyday people. Another highlight are Hasegawa Tohaku's ‘Maple Trees’ and ‘Pine Trees’, plus works by Kano Sanraku and his apprentice Kano Sansetsu, which are exhibited side-by-side, a perfect opportunity to compare the style of the teacher and student. Besides art, you can also see historical artefacts including Tensho hishi oban gold coins from the Tensho period (1573-1592).

Note: due to Covid-19, tickets have to be purchased in advance.
