Time Out says

This event is not in Tokyo, but in Ishikawa prefecture.

Located on the very tip of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa prefecture on the Japanese coast, Suzu city plays host to this expansive art festival directed by the Art Front Gallery's Fram Kitagawa. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 triennale was postponed and is now timed to coincide with the local autumn matsuri festival season.

There will be 47 artists from 16 countries participating, including adventurer-turned-photographer Naoki Ishikawa, sculptor Noe Aoki and German visual artist Carsten Nicolai. Don’t miss the Okura Zarae project, which displays local folk tools and other once-commonplace items from the past together with recollections from their owners. The objects have been collected from private warehouses through the help of local residents, folklore experts and artists.
