Time Out says

This November, natural lacquerware (Ottchil in Korean) master Jun Yong-bok and his disciple, Huh Yoon Soo, are exhibiting their lacquer artworks in Japan for the first time in 20 years. This rare presentation highlights Korea’s lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlay traditions and how they’re being paired with contemporary sensibilities.

Master craftsman Jun Yong-bok, who previously oversaw the creation of approximately 5,000 art pieces for Hotel Gajoen in Meguro, is displaying his massive works at the Korean Culture Center until November 20. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover the world of contemporary lacquer art.
