Time Out says

The Roppongi Art Night takes the block party concept to a whole new level, transforming the Midtown area into a giant art opening that rages from dusk until dawn. Local museums, restaurants and shops will extend their hours to varying times of staggering home late.

Celebrating its third annual year, Roppongi Art Night returns with headliner and purveyor of polka dots, avant-garde virtuoso Yayoi Kusama. Adding a touch of tradition, the event will also feature a parade of mikoshi (portable shrines)customized with contemporary art by artist group, Antenna. Each contributing venue will have its own events, most of which are free. Highlights include animation lovefest, Tokyo Anima 2011! (National Art Center) and the designer talk show/workshop collective, CoFesta Pao (Tokyo Midtown Hall).

Featuring an eclectic group of artists and performances, and the opportunity to rock Roppongi’s art scene until the wee hours, Roppongi Art Night continues to establish itself as possibly the must-see art event of the year.
