Tokyo-based contemporary artist Shun Sudo is known for his unique style combining traditional Japanese ink painting (sumi-e) with graffiti reminiscent of New York street art. His works are vibrant and colourful, imbued with lots of joy and optimism – just what we need in this pandemic.
For just six days, The Tokyo Edition, Toranomon has curated 15 pieces of Sudo’s art, many of which are new, for an exhibition at the hotel’s Meeting Studios on the second floor. This pop-up showcase is also accompanied by a limited-time menu offering at the hotel’s lush, plant-filled Lobby Lounge.
There’s a refreshing Patio cocktail (¥2,200; ¥1,400 for the zero-alcohol version) featuring raspberry herbal tea, vodka, gin, citrus, lemon balm and coriander, as well as a beautiful Flower Berry Parfait stacked with fresh berries, sorbet, chocolate ice cream, pistachio cream, grape jelly and granola.
