Time Out says

Opened in September 2023, Shutl gallery offers a unique space, repurposing capsules from the now-demolished Nakagin Capsule Tower, one of the most iconic structures in Tokyo. A standout architectural marvel of Showa-era Japan, the Nakagin Tower was a symbol of Metabolism architecture and Japan's post-war renaissance in the 1970s.

Today, while the tower has been sadly dismantled, Shutl serves as a niche sanctuary, preserving this architectural history. Within the gallery, two original capsules from the Nakagin Tower find their home: one retains its authentic interior and the other is presented as a stripped-down skeleton.

Events, ranging from film screenings to exhibitions of contemporary Japanese art, are hosted within these preserved capsules. Workshops offering fresh takes on Japanese culture also grace the venue from time to time.
