Time Out says

Subtitled 'Peranakan fashion in an interconnected world', the Shoto Museum's summer special takes you deep into the history of Singapore through a look at the lives and styles of the city-state's Peranakans, a term that generally refers to people of mixed Chinese and Malay/Indonesian heritage who settled in Singapore. Through a display centred on Sarong Kebaya clothing, a folk garment traditionally worn by Peranakan women, the exhibition makes for an interesting intro to the intricacies of a highly diverse culture. Held as part of the celebrations marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Singapore, it also includes displays of jewellery, beaded slippers and other accessories.
