Tadashi Kawamata: Expand BankArt

Blurring the line between installation art and architecture, Tadashi Kamata delights in turning cities inside out by introducing surreal, semi-demolished structures to the urban landscape. At the start of his career, the artist would fashion these installations from the remains of demolished buildings, and he's reviving this technique for his latest exhibition at Yokohama's BankArt Studio NYK. The source material this time comes from a local apartment block, built as part of the city's first big urban renewal project in the '50s and '60s.
