Ginza Six’s Tsutaya bookstore is showcasing the latest works of potter and ceramic artist Takuro Kuwata. You’ll find several colourful slipware tea bowls on display, which combine traditional Japanese pottery techniques with contemporary designs and elements such as gold leaf. Slipware is pottery that focuses on the decorating process, where the semi-hardened surface is decorated with clay slurry. The exhibits here are available for purchase, but it’s run on a lottery system, where only ‘winners’, who’ll be contacted by the end of August, are allowed to buy their preferred pieces.
The exhibition takes place daily from 10.30am to 9pm, until 5pm on July 29.
