Time Out Tokyo is a media partner of Tennoz Art Week 2025.
Tennoz Art Week returns for the third year, transforming the Tennozu waterfront area into a lively art hub. Taking place across six venues from September 11 to 15, the programme presents a showcase of artworks that transcends genres, borders and generations, offering a broad presentation of the current contemporary art scene. One of the highlights is Nile Koetting’s performative installation titled ‘Blossoms - fulfilment’, which invites visitors to question what it means to 'view' art and who the 'viewer' truly is.
Also worth visiting is Atsushi Suwa’s first large-scale solo exhibition in three years, titled ‘You Are Beautiful’. With around 80 works on display, including still life paintings and portraits, the exhibit offers a multifaceted look at the leading painter in contemporary Japanese realism.
Tickets bundling entry to both exhibits are now available for purchase through Artsticker. Other noteworthy parts of the week-long art festival include several exhibitions at Terrada Art Complex and What Cafe, and a painting workshop where you can try out painting techniques used by Edo-period artists on a traditional silk canvas.
Programme times and admission fees vary. Check the event website for more details.
