At this wide-ranging exhibition, you can discover the quintessential crafts of the Edo period (1603-1868) and be introduced to the concept of monozukuri. Although literally it means 'making things', it represents a deep culture of dedication to a craft. You’ll find on display an exquisite range of works including lacquerware, ceramics, carpentry, swords, incense boxes, folding screens, scrolls and more, giving you an unrivalled view of the works, lives and minds of Edo-era artisans.
