Yuji Hamada: Broken Chord

Photographer Yuji Hamada has been exhibiting actively in both Japan and abroad over the past few years, and now stops by Azabu's PGI gallery to show off around 40 gelatin silver prints of a series shot in Wrocław, a Polish city designated as the European Capital of Culture in 2016. Combining the city's layered walls with his own thoughts and memories, Hamada has created double-exposed prints that incorporate both the ‘the complex simplicity of the layered’ and ‘the simple complexity of the unlayered'.
