Time Out says

Built to celebrate 50 years since Adachi Ward's founding, Hanahata Memorial Garden is a Japanese garden surrounded by stone walls, reminiscent of a feudal Japanese castle. The Oukatei guesthouse serves coffee at the café corner and matcha green tea in the tea ceremony room.

Hanahata Memorial Garden Autumn Illuminations

Adachi’s northernmost neighbourhood of Hanahata is home to a Japanese garden that, while modest in size, makes a grand impression with its expansive pond, stone walls and moat. The much-loved local spot will be illuminated after dark on seven nights this year, from November 20 to 23 and November 27 to 29. Visitors can warm up with hot drinks such as oshiruko (sweet red bean soup), alongside treats including cakes. The garden’s tearoom will also host matcha sessions led by Rikkyo University’s tea ceremony club, with servings at 5pm, 5.50pm and 6.40pm. Each session costs ¥800 per person.
