Time Out says

[Note: this event is held in Osaka, not Tokyo]

From December 15 you can participate in an exciting, interactive night walk taking place in the castle park of Osaka, the vibrant city in Japan’s west. Sakuya Lumina is the latest among nine different night walks, created by Canadian multimedia studio Moment Factory. This outdoor, mixed media experience invites you to be part of a fairytale-like story midst a magical setting, created by colourful lights, different soundscapes, scenography, video content, and interactive features.

Discover the combination of Osaka’s dynamic culture and the castle park’s natural beauty while making your way through the castle grounds in order to follow the event’s main story: Akiyo, a young girl from the future, accidentally tripped through a portal into our time zone and now needs to find a way back to the future. Together with a range of quirky characters appearing along the pathways, your task is to accompany Akiyo during her mission.

With six different Lumina installations in Canada, one in Singapore and now two in Japan, Sakuya Lumina is a collaboration between Moment Factory and Yoshimoto Kogyo, one of Japan’s biggest entertainment companies; the Dentsu Group, a Japanese international advertising company; and the Osaka Castle Park, to provide a new type of multimedia experience to curious visitors.

The event starts on December 15, 2018 and is scheduled to take place for three consecutive years.
