Setagaya Bread Festival
This super-popular bread festival is returning on Saturday, October 31 and November 1. It’s a gathering of Setagaya ward’s many renowned bakeries and bread shops, with the support of several guest bakers and producers from other parts of Tokyo and the rest of Japan.
This neighbourhood-wide festival, taking place at Setagaya Park, Home/Work Village cultural complex and participating stores in the Setagaya area, will feature more than 250 vendors over the two days. You can sample local delicacies, as well as baked goods and pastries from across Japan. Some bakeries are even selling festival-exclusive bread that you can't find elsewhere.
While you're there, help decide the best mentaiko (spiced pollock roe) baguette at the annual 'Best Bread Contest,' or join one of the many workshops available for you to learn how to make your own bread.
