You don’t have to travel out of Tokyo to see a lush bamboo grove. While it may not be as expansive as Kyoto’s Arashiyama, Takenoko Park in Itabashi is a verdant space filled with approximately 13 species of bamboo. The bamboo forest is also connected to Akatsuka Park, one of the larger greenspaces in the neighbourhood, where you'll find plenty of cherry blossom trees, grassy lawns and sports fields.
