Tokyo’s women bartenders come from a multitude of backgrounds: some of them used to be office workers, secretaries or public officials, while others were rocket scientists or ballerinas. And then there’s Erika Oguri, a former idol from the sprawling AKB48 system. Having played piano since the age of three and violin from seven, her background is firmly in music – which is also reflected in the name of her bar. In addition to a plentiful selection of cocktails (from ¥800), the hard-working Oguri's Algernon Sinfonia boasts extensive tequila and cigar choices. Note that there's a ¥700 cover charge.
