Time Out says

The newest resident of Taito’s Misuji neighbourhood is Nomura Shoten, a tachonomi (standing) bar designed to encourage locals to foster new connections and introduce booze-lovers to fine, rare spirits. The bar, designed by Wakiko Fukuda, has a traditional wood façade and noren curtains reminiscent of old Tokyo, while the concrete walls on the interior add a touch of urban minimalism.

The spirits here have been personally selected by the bar’s owner Soran Nomura, who worked as a bartender in London for several years before returning to Japan. Since then, he's won awards as bar manager of Fuglen Tokyo, helped design the original menu for The SG Club, worked at Nihonbashi's Ao Bar and more. Featured labels include both Japanese and foreign spirits such as Off Trail Azeotrope gin produced by Far Yeast Brewing Company and OneRum, distilled in Okinawa.

Pair the top-notch selection of gin tonics and whiskey highballs with a tasty selection of bites created by head chef of Kabutocho restaurant Caveman, Shun Hishiya. Snacks include mackerel rillette with black rice chips (¥800), pork belly bao buns (¥850) and Japanese homestyle dry curry (¥1,000).

Opening on May 14.
