Sakeno Mitsuya

The more than 100-year-old Mitsuya liquor store in Asagaya stocks a whopping 200 varieties of sake from breweries around the country, plus a great selection of domestic wine and craft beer. Its casual in-store stand bar lets you sample from any bottle on the shelves for as little as ¥500. The procedure for drinking at the bar can be a little tricky to figure out, so ask the staff if you’re unsure – and keep an eye out for their sushi nights, when you can pair your tipple with excellent seafood served up by a visiting chef.
