The greener the better. Swap your coffee for a cool glass of matcha this weekend: the green tea purveyors behind New York’s MatchaBar are returning with a pop-up at Omotesando’s Commune 2nd this Saturday and Sunday.

No strangers to Tokyo, MatchaBar have made a few appearances over recent years, serving up their signature drinks including matcha lattes and quirky combos such as iced watermelon matcha and peaches n’ cream matcha.

The two day pop-up shop has collaborated with Brooklyn Ribbon Fries' Commune 2nd location, where they’ll even be offering their own tasty collab: matcha ribbon fries. As for drinks, there will be five different concoctions to choose from, all priced at an easy ¥500.

Try out their signature iced matcha or perhaps something a little more intriguing like their iced matcha almond chai latte, matcha ginger ale or hot apple ginger matcha. As if that wasn't enough, avid fans can also pick up MatchaBar merch including hats and pins while at the shop.

For those who can’t make it to the pop-up this weekend, fear not: MatchaBar have plans to open their first permanent café in Tokyo sometime in 2018. With continued success and the support of celebrity investors like Drake backing them up, there’s no telling what MatchaBar will whisk up next.

MatchaBar Tokyo Pop-Up Commune 2nd, 3-13 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku. Oct 21-22, 11am-6pm.
