Tokyo's longest running drum 'n' bass party started life at the original Liquid Room in November 1996, and in its first few years featured just about every major name in the genre, from Goldie to Grooverider to Andy C. That its 15th birthday party is headlined not by a d'n'b star but dubstep heavyweight Mala says a lot about how much DBS's core music has atrophied over the past decade. The Digital Mystikz mainstay is joined by Japan's Goth-Trad (whose next album is due out on Mala's Deep Medi Musik label in early 2012), with critically adored Belfast producer Calibre and Makoto flying the drum 'n' bass flag.
