This swinging, foreign-owned Jamaican dancehall and reggae club could double as a walk-in closet. Still, the staff are very friendly, and Garam’s become something of an institution, with Japanese MCs, sharp DJs and pounding vibes. To find it, head out of the east exit of Shinjuku station and down the pedestrianised street next to the Studio Alta TV screen. Cross Yasukuni Dori, and it’s the third building on the right.
