It's been nearly a decade since The Labyrinth started life at a campsite in Gunma, where it stuck it out for seven years before relocating to the space that regular Fuji Rock-goers know as the Field of Heaven. Back in 2002, the party was still loosely aligned with the psychedelic trance scene, but it's since pledged allegiance to the worlds of minimal and deep techno (while giving a nod to ambient and dubstep). There are only 2,500 advance tickets up for grabs, guaranteeing a more intimate experience than you're likely to get at most other music festivals this year. This year's lineup so far includes a number of Labyrinth regulars, among them Peter Van Hoesen, Donato Dozzy (who's also playing live with Neel as Voices from the Lake) and Function, plus a live set of improvised electronics by Atom TM & Pink Elln.
