Based on the, ahem, extensive research that Time Out conducted at the event last year, we can confirm that the organisers' description of Whistlebump Halloween as a 'glorious orgy of decadence' is more-or-less accurate. Xex Nihonbashi lends an incongruously upmarket sheen to a down-and-dirty party featuring rope bondage performances, 'undead go-go dancers' and a guest DJ you've probably never heard of (UK deep house devotee Junior Gee) alongside a bunch of local spinners you probably have (DJ Aki, Groove Patrol & Aron T, Velocity, et al.). No costume discounts, but you can save a few yen by picking up an advance ticket online.
