The Paris Opera House brings the beautifully haunting ghost story of Giselle to Tokyo. In this classical ballet, a young peasant girl is seduced by the deceitful nobleman Albrecht. After Albrecht’s true colours are revealed, the devastated Giselle dies of heartbreak, leaving Albrecht to be haunted by the consequences of his actions. The ballet’s second act is focused primarily on the Wilis, the ghosts of young maidens who kill the men that have once betrayed them by dancing them to exhaustion.
