Time Out says

The latest effort from director Eiji Uchida (Lowlife Love, Greatful Dead), Love and Other Cults is a dark indie comedy that's been rather well received at film festivals around the world, having already screened at the likes of Hong Kong's Filmart and Montreal's Fantasia. Released domestically on July 15, it stars Kenta Suga, Sairi Ito and Sion Sono favourite Ami Tomite, who combine for an energetic, occasionally questionable but all in all enjoyable ride through the lives of frustrated 20-somethings in the Japanese countryside. Now's your chance to see the film with English subtitles: these screenings will be combined with talks by TV personality and publisher Matthew Chozick (both nights), producer Adam Torel (July 20) and the duo of Australia's own Ladybeard and 'muscle idol' Reika Saiki (August 2), who together go by the name Deadlift Lolita.
