Time Out says

Focused on realistic depiction of social issues and everyday dilemmas in Taiwanese society, the island's New Wave movie movement flowered between the early '80s and 1990, with directors like Edward Yang and Hou Hsiao-Hsien capturing worldwide attention and taking home awards at the Venice, Berlin and Cannes film festivals. K's Cinema in Shinjuku now recaps these glory days with a 23-flick programme that includes masterpieces like Yang's The Terrorizers (1986) and Hou's A City of Sadness (1989). The full lineup and schedule details can be viewed here.

Please note that all films will be shown with Japanese subtitles only.
