Time Out says

Marking 45 years since the return of Okinawa to Japanese sovereignty, Waseda Shochiku is rolling out a lineup of Okinawa-themed films made just before and after the 1972 handover. The four-part programme includes Yoichi Higashi's debut film, the documentary Okinawa retto ('The Okinawa Islands', 1969), which explores daily life on the military base-littered islands, the same director's 1971 drama Yasashii Nipponjin ('Those Quiet Japanese), which won Higashi the Directors Guild of Japan's New Talent Award, plus Go Takamine's Untamagiru (1989) and Dear Summer Sister (1972) by Nagisa Oshima. The full programme and schedule can be viewed in English here.
