Located by the ocean only 45 minutes from Fukuoka Airport, Seven x Seven Itoshima is a retreat set against the backdrop of the tranquil natural environment in Itoshima, the Fukuoka region’s most in-demand beach destination. Newly renovated and reopened on April 1 2026, the hotel has been reborn as an even more elevated and relaxing getaway where guests can feel close to the surrounding mountains and sea through food, wellness offerings and activities.

Reimagined with a ‘Sunset Beach Club’ theme, the hotel has updated its dining experiences, added a new sauna and pool, and much more. Here are three reasons why a stay at Seven x Seven Itoshima makes the most sense for your next visit to Kyushu.

Admire oceanfront views of Sakurai Futamigaura

Admire the beauty of the sun setting over the Genkai Sea and Sakurai Futamigaura, one of the two sacred ‘Wedded Rocks’ in Japan, from the comfort of your own room. Itoshima is known as one of the best sunset viewing spots in Japan, and at Seven x Seven you can have the coastal views all to yourself.

The hotel boasts numerous types of rooms, from dog-friendly rooms and contemporary Japanese-style rooms to suite-like offerings with a spacious terrace for barbecues, accommodating a wide range of guests and occasions.

Enjoy creative cuisine using local ingredients

Under the direction of Sho Mawatari, an Itoshima-born chef and bar owner known for inventive cuisine, guests can enjoy a seasonal multicourse menu inspired by the themes of fire, water and earth, showcasing local Itoshima ingredients.

The Fire selection features spice-forward dishes such as Itoshima Japanese yam arrabbiata, while Water highlights ocean-inspired offerings like mozuku seaweed soba and other seafood-driven plates. Earth brings comforting, grounded flavours through dishes such as taro potato salad and renkon fritters. As the menu is built around seasonal availability, it changes regularly, ensuring a dynamic dining experience with each visit.

Additionally, guests can choose either a Japanese or Western breakfast, with four options available – including a menu created in collaboration with a popular local bakery.

Heal up in the new sauna and pool

Seamlessly connected to the shared lounge space, the sauna and outdoor pool area is the perfect place to unwind and spend a slow, relaxing time in between exploring Itoshima’s sights. Open from 7am to 12midnight, the spacious facilities are available exclusively for guests.

Seven x Seven Itoshima is located 45 minutes from Hakata Station by car and 30 minutes via local bus. The drive from Fukuoka Airport is around the same length as from Hakata. Bookings can be made via the official website.
