Time Out says

Directed by former Studio Ghibli prodigy Hiromasa Yonebayashi, anime adventure Mary and the Witch's Flower opened in cinemas on July 8 and has been decently received so far. The When Marnie Was There creator's first film for ex-Ghibli producer Yoshiaki Nishimura's Studio Ponoc, Mary tells a very familiar-feeling story of a young girl who accidentally discovers the world of witchcraft after getting her hands on a magical plant. This exhibition, held on the 11th floor of Shinjuku's Odakyu department store, consists of sketches, storyboards, dioramas, background drawings and other materials used in the making of the movie – around 200 pieces in total.
