A fearsome bunch of extinct mammals come together at this exhibition, created in collaboration with around 20 museums and research centres in Japan. Highlights include three complete skeletons that form a family of Asian straight-tusked elephants, a prehistoric species hunted for food by the early inhabitants of the Japanese islands, and fossils of the curious paleoparadoxia, an aquatic hippo-like animal that roamed the ancient sea bottom from Japan to Mexico.
