Located just a few minutes away from Bashamichi Station, the NYK Maritime Museum is dedicated to documenting the history of shipping and seafaring in Japan. You'll also learn about the museum's eponymous shipping company, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).
The permanent collection here is filled with valuable photographs, brochures and models that cover all the details on how Japanese shipping companies came to be after Matthew C. Perry’s arrival in Japan in 1853.
