The art exhibition ‘Syd Mead Progression TYO 2019’ will be held at the 3331 Arts Chiyoda for a limited time between Apr 27 and Jun 2. The ‘visual futurist’ Syd Mead is a world-renowned industrial designer, responsible for product designs for companies like Ford as well as concept art for famous movies like ‘Star Trek’, ‘Mission Impossible 3’ and ‘Alien 2’.
The exhibition curates 150 works from Mead’s massive archives, divided into several sections, including his early works, movie-related art and works in Japan. Many of these are exhibited in Asia for the very first time. Special pamphlets and postcards featuring Mead’s most iconic designs will also be sold at the exhibition.
