Covering a 4km stretch along the Tama River between Hinatawada and Futamatao Stations, Yoshino Baigo (Yoshino Plum Park) is perhaps the most attractive spot within the Tokyo metropolitan area for plum blossoms. The 25,000 ume trees come into bloom between late February and early March, creating a sea of white and red flowers. A thousand of these trees are housed within the Ume-no-Koen Park near Hinatawada Station, the best place for blossom viewing, though note that there's a nominal ¥200 charge to get in.
