Angelic Upstarts

One of the most politicised of the first-generation punk bands, Angelic Upstarts saw their shows invaded by members of the fascist National Front and were met with widespread opprobrium when they released a song apparently supporting the IRA's attempt to blow up the Conservative cabinet. Good times. The group's constant splits and lineup shifts meant that they were continuing at one point without any original members, but frontman Thomas 'Mensi' Mensforth is back on board for this latest revival tour. Support comes from Osaka Oi! punks Cobra, a band whose career has been nearly as long, and just as skittish.
