Shibuya’s annual illumination Ao no Dokutsu ('Blue Cavern') has been cancelled this year due to the coronavirus, but you can still enjoy an online version of the event, to be live-streamed on Sunday December 20. Look forward to performances by three Japanese artists and listen to them talking about their Christmas plans this year.
Mika Nakashima, known for her role in the live-action movie 'Nana' (2005) and the movie’s theme song ‘Glamorous Sky’, will perform some of her most popular songs, including Yuki no Hana, Resistance and Nocturn. Other artists include rock band Keytalk and pop duo Maruri to Ryuga.
You can watch the show for free on Abema between 9-11pm JST on Sunday December 20. If you miss it, no worries – the show will be available to view until February 21 2021. Note that the event is in Japanese only.
